Put together an extra long video this time to show you a little bit of what Raya here in Malaysia is like. Eid celebrations all over the world vary so much, so I thought it would be fun to document Malaysian celebrations. \r

    DAY 1: \r
Breakfast with some friends and family. A lot of the people we know in Kuala Lumpur are Muslim converts from all over the world (England, US, Europe) so we try to do things together just because they obviously dont have family here or any proper Malaysian traditions, so getting together after the Eid prayer has become a tradition of ours. \r
    \r
Everyone brings a dish and then we sit down and tuck in. This time Shelina prepared a treasure hunt for the kids so we ran around the garden making that happen as well which was a tonne of sweaty fun.\r
    \r
After breakfast, we went to visit my grandmothers grave. This isnt something we do every Eid, but my mother had been meaning to go for a while and it was this day that ended up being very easy for all of us. \r
    \r
Muslim graves in Malaysia are ually landscaped in a special way. The graves have trees planted on them and then left to grow. I love the symbolism behind the price. There is something so natural and organic about this tradition. \r
    \r
    DAY 2:\r
The second day of Eid we traveled to my mothers home which is a small village town in the south called MUAR. This is something that happens every Eid and most people that work in the big cities will do this too. We ually call it Balik kampung which literally means. return to the village. \r
    \r
City dwellers go back to their families hometowns and we visit relative and family members just to call on them and see how they are. Its ually my favourite part of Raya.(Eid)\r
    \r
Its so incredible to see the humble beginnings that our family ually comes from. Really shows you how close your blood is to a life so different from your own. \r
    \r
ALSO, got to film a little bit of my amazing cousin, Zafran Aqils, insane skills with a Yo-yo. YES! He is the national champion of Malaysia! \r
    \r
Aaaaand after visiting a few different houses we gather our strength at my grandmothers house and then, head back to KL on a 4 hour journey from Muar. \r
    \r
    DAY 3: \r
Ended up spending most of day 3 recovering from day 2. hehe. \r
Kept it very chilled and only went to visit Qas in the evening to go and have some dinner. \r
